The story says Indian in origin. And he looked down and saw them in the water. It did not say the magnet attached to them.

The article does say repeatedly that they were made of lead.
FWIW—this happened in England. Location makes a big difference in this story. England is strange—if it had been Peoria it would be bizarre.

I don't understand how he found them using a magnet - he says they are made out of lead? This caught my eye too. I went back and read it again. It says he found them "WHILE magnet fishing" and that he "looked down and just saw them."
