When i run errands, essential or not, i have never stopped to chalk a political message on someone else’s sidewalk or property. I also have never carried a piece of chalk with me running errands.

Bringing pink chalk to run some errands is intent for write some illegal graffiti. She would have still been arrested if she was a KKK member scrawling “Moochelle Obugger is a tranny” on SomeOne else’s property.
Writers always carry pink chalk — you never know when the muse will alight on your shoulder and you need to get your deepest thoughts written down quickly before they vanish into the void. Isn’t it obvious that’s what happened here?
