Agreed. But these days what a persons beliefs are is more important than scientific facts. (At least to certain groups that profess to believe in science)

In contemporary society when one professes their faith in any capacity, especially sciences, they are dismissed as zealots.
In my experience, in particular with friends in the sciences, they are more often than not, believers. In my experience with friends in the arts, they are more often not.
This surprises me in some ways, but for the most part does not.
