Brian Williams: Minnesota Governor, Mayor 'Offered Up, Abandoned' Police Precinct
newsbusters.org ^

Where's the Rewind on your remote? On MSNBC on Friday afternoon, anchorman Brian Williams actually criticized the Governor of Minnesota and the Mayor of Minneapolis, Democrats both, for their inaction last night in the face of the riots. Williams accused them of having "abandoned and offered up a police precinct."

Williams was interviewing Bill Bratton, a past police commissioner of NYC, Boston, and Los Angeles, and now MSNBC's senior law enforcement analyst. Williams asked Bratton whether he could imagine, in any of the departments he had run, a situation akin to what took place in Minneapolis Thursday night.

Continued Williams:

"Let’s be honest about what it was: the governor and mayor were spectators. Police and fire were not allowed to engage. And they abandoned, and offered up, a police precinct."

Bratton responded by saying that the situation reminded him of the Los Angeles police department [before he was commish], abandoning the famous intersection of Florence and Normandie during the Rodney King riots. That, said Bratton, sent a signal that "anything goes," and led to the City of Los Angeles burning for 48-72 hours thereafter.

Seems to me big government cop will be exonerated in a deal with forgiving antifa so as to screw again the taxpayers.

As usual, pay your taxes and shut up. If you dare protect your pawn shop, swift justice for you, out you go to jail.

Kaepernick will burn the flag in the name of “fck dah police”, which will be done in exchange for the 49ers hosting those traitor cops in another antigun grab advertisement

Nothing emboldened an enemy more than running away. It’s almost like they did it deliberately to send a message.....weird huh.

Minneapolis got exactly what they voted for. The trash they voted in are Hitler grade, in that they actually want this type of violence. Abandoning a police station only encourages more as the rioters are given a victory by the rat leaders.

Failure of leadership added to Twin Cities chaos
It’s clear now that Walz and mayors weren’t on the same page this week.

My great-great-grandfather commanded a police precinct during the Civil War draft riots. These punks are pushovers compared to the Gangs of New York, circa 1863.

Police and fire were not allowed to engage. And they abandoned, and offered up, a police precinct.

It was a tactical decision. With riots occurring in several places, they probably didn’t have enough police to offer protection against the massed rioters. To protect it probably would have meant using lethal means. That’s what the radical rioters are looking for.

In those riots-—MAYOR TOM BRADLEY-—BLACK—stood in the AME church with Maxine Waters on camera & said NO JUSTICE—NO PEACE after the LAPD officers were not convicted.

I lived in LA then, and that video clip was repeated all over for days.

I led me to leave LA less than a year later. I no longer felt safe anywhere in the city.

I expect nothing more from any Democrat controlled area.

Democrats thrive on chaos. Peaceful well ran cities are not profitable to Democrats and in the end, that is all that matters.

One could argue that this is why militias still need to exist, even though they were largely replaced by the National Guard. When a state government refuses to call out the National Guard because of political motives or sheer stupidity, the citizens of a community need to be able to re-establish civil order in the absence of a functioning government.

Does anyone know, did the precinct hold evidence and records pertaining to upcoming trials? How many criminals get a free pass because they can no longer be tried?

Exactly. The idiot mayor talked about it as “just bricks and mortar” but it’s signaled that they didn’t care what the Rioters did. It is one thing Win 1000 riders decide on a target and there’s only 20 police officers to protect it, but when you have a police station with what appeared to be 100+ officers inside and you let the Rioters Take it over it’s in those you gave up control of the city to them.

From reports I heard, no idea if this is true, earlier in the day a bunch of police trucks and vans showed up at the precinct empty with just drivers And left a few hours later, will be for the police officially Left it for the writers indicating they may have removed things like evidence, computers, firearms, etc.
