Rove used to get called a genius. Both assessments are probably wrong. He’s no genius, but he had to have some smarts to get as far as he did.

W is no genius either, but he probably knows that he doesn’t want to get directly involved with Biden. It would hurt what’s left of his brand.

The Bush's, in their hubris, are going to force the GOP to splinter. They will take the globalist hacks that give lip service to conservatism while actually hating it. The rest of us will go with Trump and/or his spiritual successor. But the GOP cannot stand as a house divided against itself like this.

And that will be the end of the story of the GOP. The saddest note: Reagan unintentionally empowered it by giving George 'New World Order' Bush I the Vice Presidency, which resulted in the systematic dismantling of all of Reagan's accomplishments and now a fight for the party's soul. A fight which cannot be won, both sides are too entrenched. Splinter is coming.
