Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders detailed an explosive fight between then-chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and former national security adviser John Bolton during President Trumps state visit to London a year ago.
Sanders writes in her forthcoming book that Bolton was drunk on power and had forgotten that nobody elected him to anything, according to Axios.
"Bolton apparently felt too important to travel with the rest of us," Sanders wrote.
"As we were ready to depart for the Winfield House, [the U.S. ambassador's residence in London], we loaded onto a small black bus. We waited and watched as Bolton sped by and left us in the dust. The discussion on the bus quickly moved ... to how arrogant and selfish Bolton could be, not just in this moment but on a regular basis," Sanders wrote.
Sanders noted that even Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was on the bus.
"When we finally arrived at the Winfield House, Mick Mulvaney, typically laid-back and not one to get caught up in titles or seniority, confronted Bolton and unleashed a full Irish explosion on him, Sanders said.
"Lets face it, John," Mulvaney said, according to Sanders. "Youre a f------ self-righteous, self-centered son of a b----!'"
Sanders said Bolton often thought he was more important than other White House officials and could play by a different set of rules than the rest of the team.
Another account of the trip, reported last week by the Daily Mail, said Bolton demanded his own Air Force jet to travel to London for the state visit instead of flying on Air Force One with the rest of the staff and the president.
The guy broke his civil contract and should be sued, pure and simple.
Mulvany’s eloquent upbraiding of Traitor Bolton is a thing of beauty.
The Bard himself would be proud, and probably swipe it for use in one of his plays.
It’s a shame we lost him from Congress.
President: "We have a foreign policy issue with France, what do you advise?"
Bolton: "We should consider nuking them, and if not that, then we should invade."
Pompeo: "A simple phone call and a little diplomacy will smooth this over."
Bolton: "So, are we going to invade?"
President: "No, John. When do I ever take your advice? A simple phone call and a little diplomacy will smooth this over."
It would be interesting to go back in time and see just which Freepers celebrated this jack-hat being selected by the President - and just who thought (knew!) it was a mistake.
I wonder how Bolton likes getting bombs dropped on him.
Bolton should have heeded the proverb about throwing stones from a glass house.
Will always believe he was behind the Ukrainian whistleblower lie.
Mick trashed Bolton on Fox this am. good stuff!
"Youre a f------ self-righteous, self-centered son of a b----!'"Future epitaph?
Whatever John Bolton once was, he has now devolved into a hateful man who by his actions is aiding the demented leftist Biden and the communists who will control him to achieve power and destroy the American nation. Bolton is a malignancy.
All you need for the BoltonIdiot show is popcorn and toilet paper.
Bolton signed NDAA’s, then blabbed stuff covered by those NDAA’s.
Put this sumbitch in GITMO per The Espionage Act, and, The Patriot Act.
Every NDAA for ‘sensitive data’ has a life of 25 years, and you sign one every year you work with the data.
Knowing Mick personally, he must have reallllllllllly been pissed off to say this.
Sanders said Bolton often thought he was more important than other White House officials and could play by a different set of rules than the rest of the team.
Just like Marie Yovanovitch and others, Bolton believed HE should set policy not follow the policies set by Trump.
Trump wanted to try new methods to achieve new ends not keep adhering to the status quo.
Bolton and others all foolishly believed THEY we so important and so knowledgeable Trump should act on their advice.
Everyone who left in anger is upset Trump acted independently and didn't fawn over their self-perceived 'greatness'
Trumps comment If I listened to John Bolton, wed be in World War IIV. was an effective cut down.
“It would be interesting to go back in time and see just which Freepers celebrated this jack-hat being selected by the President - and just who thought (knew!) it was a mistake.”
I’m guilty. Boy, was I wrong!
To think I used to be a fan of greyish moustache man. Hes turned into a backstabbing POS siding with the darkness.
AG Barr said yesterday that Bolton’s book proceeds belong to the US government, by law, because Bolton never cleared the book with them. Hopefully, justice will be served and the arrogant sob will just have wasted his efforts.
