I feel sorry what happened to this couple but you did go on an excursion to an active volcano. so if Yellowstone blows up everyone at the park can sue too?

Advertising provision of Lava soap was in retrospect a mistake

Effing idiots. They shouldn’t have had to rely on the tour guide to tell them to exercise common sense, and take cover!

This is a serious problem with all of our liability laws and regulations.

People are so sure that the government has made it impossible for anybody to ever get hurt by anything, that they ASSUME that if a company is letting them do something, it must be perfectly safe.

What made them think a volcano could never erupt, or that somehow a cruise liner would have prior knowledge to such an event?

Probably their firm belief that government “regulates” this sort of thing.

Similarly, guests were never told the tiny volcanic island, 30 miles from New Zealand's North Island, had erupted multiple times in the previous ten years, most recently in December 2016.

So because the volcano erupted 3 years ago, this knowledge would have affected the decision to go tour 'an active volcano'?

I'm puzzled, just what part of 'tour an active volcano' doesn't imply risk and danger?

Also, wow, really? You're suing over burns when 21 people died?

Well, if grandpa can sue for tossing his grandchild from a window, why not? Lawyers gotta eat.

Not to mention YSNP has 3000 earthquakes a year.

If all the other passengers went on a jumping-off-a-cliff excursion, would you go too?

(/talking like their mom)
