Face masks only work in the one case of where one person, who HAS THE VIRUS is talking, coughing or sneezing in close proximity to another person.
If people do not have the virus wear a face covering, they are touching there face WAY MORE than they would if they were not wearing a mask.
For somebody who does not have the virus, a face shield or even safety glasses would protect them more than a mouth/nose covering.
NO mask (or any other item of PPE) gives perfect protection.
Masks DO decrease the possibility of transmission, but not to zero. But wearing one is certainly much better than not.

So far what I’ve seen of The Great Mask Debate resolves to:
1. Wear a mask - it’s the responsible thing to do. (because I said so)
2. Wear a mask - even if it doesn’t help it might....maybe
3. Wear a mask - even though it poses several significant risks to wearers.
4. Wear a mask - because science.
5. Wear a mask - because we can’t think of a viable way to manage this virus so we’re just gonna inconvenience everybody.

Think of how easily a Virus riding on a tiny droplet gets through.
Masks are dangerous for healthy people.

Let’s talk physics.
CCP virus particle size is 0.125 microns, or 1/8th of one millionth of a meter. The virus is an aerosol, not merely a fomite or droplet - which masks do help in stopping. See that huge gap between the sides of your nose and your cheeks? Is it smaller than a micron???? Hell no it’s not.
CCP virus is known - and proven - to attach to ACE2receptors in ocular tissues, initially presenting as conjunctivitis. Along with your mask, are you wearing swim goggles? Ignorance or hypocrisy, take your pick.
I’ve used this example frequently, but you Karen’s still don’t get it:
1. Put on your mask of choice - even an N95.
2. Peel an orange.
3. Did you smell the orange? (Yes, you did.)
4. Congratulations, your mask failed to stop an aerosol particle larger than CCP virus.
This is more about virtue signaling submission than actual science. And you, specifically with your ties to China should understand this quite well. My family in Shanghai and Zhenjiang wear theirs daily only because the CCP and WuJing will punish them if they do not.
Stop trying to bring Chinese style submission to America.
Oh - the only respiratory protection allowed in labs handling this virus are supplied air with full face and body protection. That is why so many healthcare workers become infected, as N95s allow viral passage.
I think this anti-mask misinformation is Chinese derived fabrication meant to keep Americans doing the wrong thing which allows the virus to further its destruction on our economy. It is also meant to ruin Trump’s chances for reelection.
That article was not detailed as the other one and did not really address the micron size of droplets. It did however admit most people do not and will not wear masks correctly.
So it might give you 75% protection of some sort but fail you in the other 25%. Not very good.
