How long until the rest of the industry does it?

I know an engineer who began work on a top-secret project back in 2006. It was to do exactly this, create a robotic burger cooking station for a major fast-food chain (he had signed a draconian NDA which prevented him from naming them, but it's the one who has the red-haired girl in their logo). The customer pulled the plug on the project in 2009 and the robots never were deployed.
