They fly with such grace and beauty. Butterflies are backyard wonders of summer in Florida. They flutter through the air so fast we can barely glimpse them before they're gone.
Now through the use of super slow-motion video photography, you will see them fly like never before. A variety of butterflies display their in-flight beauty as a GoPro7 camera shoots them in high definition at 240 frames per second.
You will see Gulf Fritillary, Monarch, Zebra Longwing, and Giant Swallowtail butterflies up-close.

That’s very nice. Seeing them in slow motion, you really see them anew.
Many years ago, the local news in Eugene, OR concluded the newscast with some video from a butterfly farm. It was good video, set to music. When it was over, the anchorman looked at the camera and said Theyre beautiful birds, arent they?
Monarchs are beautiful. We must have lived directly on their
migration path at one time. Stepping out the door one morning, found our trees were decorated with literally hundreds/thousands of monarchs hanging from the branches, limbs, and leaves. Never seen anything like it! Would enjoy seeing this a second time.
LOL! A bird? Must have been watching the hummingbird moths.
:-)
Nope. It was all flutterbys. I was just telling someone a couple of days ago they Id only seen 2 Sphinx Moths in Oregon. Never seen a Hummingbird Moth.
I wish the music in the video had remained as serene as when it started. Great visuals, though.
The slow motion makes you really see the dynamics of their flight - you can’t really see that when one just passes by you. Same with birds:

Mmmgorgeous! Makes me miss my big old butterfly bush that got blown down in a bad windstorm. Attracted swarms of monarchs. Thanks for this delightful interlude, V K Lee!
