Dufus shooting his buddies is indeed grounds for mockery, but look at the videos: there are at least 200 people, kinda sorta in uniform, marching in a vague sort of platoon order. Oh, and most of them have real guns, mostly set up in non-ridiculous configurations with optics, white lights and slings.
Granted, they look like a bunch of slobs right now, but could we get 200 FReepers on the ground with a couple of weeks notice? I don’t think so.
And how long would it really take to get a couple of dozen of those guys into decent, disciplined order?

Usually, an “accidental discharge” that causes injuries ends with an arrest. Unless I missed it, the article does not mention any arrest related to this incident. I wonder why...

The rumor is that a NFAC member fainted in the heat, dropped a shotgun, and it discharged.
That would explain why several people were injured but none seriously, especially if it was birdshot.
The live feed shows lots of people standing around. The mititias seem fairly well disciplined. Everyone else is hurling racial epithets at each other.
Again, rumor only. I’m 8 miles away and not inclined to look into it personally.

I’m surprised they didn’t have one when they marched at Stone Mountain here in GA several weeks ago. From the videos of that event, there were a bunch of clowns play-acting. This was not a group in which everyone had strong familiarity with firearms.
And Accidental Discharge is really a terrible term. This was almost certainly a Negligent Discharge. “Accident” tends to imply “couldn’t be avoided, no one really at fault”. Negligent is a much better descriptor for the behavior leading to the discharge and injuries..
