I had a spirited exchange with a (former) Flyers fan who chastised me for my continued support after the Kate Smith fiasco. Everyone has a breaking point but I said that management's stupidity didn't transfer to the players (as far as I could tell). After more back and forth, I paraphrased Jefferson:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that sports clubs long established should not be dumped for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience has shown that mankind are more disposed to watch their team do stupid things, while stupidity are sufferable, than to right themselves by dumping the team to which fans are accustomed.

But when a long train of kneeling and virtue signaling, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such clubs, and to provide new sports for their future entertainment.

Hockey isn't there...yet...so for now I haven't gone full abandonment. Go Flyers!
