LOW CARB / KETO PING!!!
It will be interesting to see what the ADA does with these stories, since they’ll be going against their funding streams, along with ‘saving the world’ by ending the consumption of meat.
[p.s., anyone wanting to join, or leave, my Low-Carb ping list, just let me know, privately or publicly]
My A1C was nearing diabetic range a couple years ago and I went Keto. Boom...I am a new person physically. Inflammation gone and weight way down. I am going more carnivore and feeling even better. I just go into grocery store and check out the meat section. I follow a couple of people on youtube. Dr Paul Saladino is one of my favorites.
I’ve dropped 55lbs in about a year doing dirty Keto. No longer pre-diabetic. BP medicine reduced 75% and I suspect will be taken totally off during next Dr visit. All my lab tests are improved. No more GERD.
Side benefit: Alcohol consumption reduced 90%
Look for Dr Fauci to start badmouthing Keto.
I commented on another thread that Ancel Keys was the original “Fauci”.
Weight was 275 went Keto dropped 25 lbs in a year.
A1c 8.9 to current 6.2.
I have to watch my low readings right now.
Adjusting my meds glimipiride and metformin.
No glimipiride since yesterday.
Woke up at 145...has been around 100 recently then would head down Too much.
Keep it up.
Here is an interesting writeup that might be of further help

I was on the same combination and also had low numbers at times. My doctor switched me to an extended release version of metformin twice a day without the glimepiride and no longer have that problem.
Anyone can come up with a permanent cure for diabetes will end up with a Nobel prize for Medicine. Getting to Mars is probably easier to do.
What exactly does it do to the diabetic?
“Anyone can come up with a permanent cure for diabetes will end up with a Nobel prize for Medicine.”
One would think, but not today - too much money at stake. More likely they’ll get sent to China for ‘harvesting’.
Fasting works for some, not for others. I tried fasting and couldn’t handle it. I also ate way too much after the fast.
I’ve been on keto for over 3 years. The first year was easy. Then my weight loss stalled, and now I’m struggling with hunger and starting to regain. I don’t know what the solution is.
May 2017 A1c was 13.7 blood sugar level was 600. Started a no carb diet and drank only water, lots of water.
August 2017 A1c was down to 7.1 and i got rid of my fatty liver too.
Doctors were astounded and could not believe that i had done it this way.
Stupid doctors dont know it all. I didnt do one thing they told me to do. They said i had to have carbs, i told them my body was full of them.
No decrease in functioning, increased my activity, staminia returned slowly. The strange part is that i gained 7 pounds. No one to this can tell how this happened
Carbs are what cause insulin and blood sugar to spike. Keto is a high fat, moderate protein, extremely low carb diet. Some people think large amounts of protein will also spike insulin release and blood sugar, but that not everyone thinks it’s much of a problem.
If you don’t eat carbs, you don’t release a lot of insulin, so your blood sugar doesn’t go up. Many think the increase in circulating insulin is what really damages the body, more so than the increase in blood sugar.
People who go on a very low carb diet, usually lose weight and report less hunger. In spite of the high fat diet, triglycerides go down and HDL goes up. For some, LDL also increases, but I think cholesterol is a bogus risk factor, unless you are one of those plagued by a genetic condition that causes astronomical cholesterol levels.
Atkins was more of a high protein diet, but keto is high fat and moderate protein.
Seniors should read the book “Rethinking Aging: Growing Old and Living Well in an Overtreated Society” by Nortin Hadler, MD. He’s not a proponent of any particular diet, but he does shine a light on all the unnecessary tests and treating for numbers that happens today.
I forgot to list that i was on Metformin. Stopped taken before the big drop. Was losing muscle mass and staminia. I was wasting away. Now i am back to being muscular. My calves look like a body builders and only taking insulin. Couldnt follow their damn meal plans, dont cook like Wolfgang Puck either, i hate to cook. Eyes came back and only use reading glasses now. Been to 5 eye doctors appts and all said i needed glasses. They are full of crap too. Trust your instincts. Go on youtube and start watching Dr. Berg videos on health, nutrition and disease. Truzt your doctor doesnt know as much as this man.
Stopped taking aspirin to prevent a heart attack too. I am 61yrs old and guess what aspirin does? It puts holes in your veins. What repairs those holes? Chlorestol and that causes the blockages in veins.
Dr Berg,Dr Berg,Dr Berg! Stop listening to these bought drug company drug pushers and get on the internet and educate yourself with the truth and not this profit hype and hogwash they call modern medicine. Its all a joke. Doctors take one 3 hour semester class on nutriution and then let the drug companies push their unproven dangerous drugs into your body and give you an early death.
