Matthew 24:24 often gets glossed over. The plural is used by Christ in describing that there would be numbers of false Christs and false prophets arising who would actually perform great signs and wonders so as to lead many astray as it gets closer to the days of God’s wrath. One can argue that there have obviously been a few false Christs over the years but we haven’t seen multiple numbers of false prophets actually performing great signs and wonders. I think there have been some over the years but I think as the end gets closer there might be a whole lot of such folk crawling out of the wood work and it will be very hard to resist their claims of each one of them being the ONLY holy One of God or of being his true representative. That is why we have the Bible so that we can discern such people as false in spite of their magic tricks for the Bible says very plainly how the real Christ will come to set up his kingdom.

So see someone pulling off incredible signs and wonders....ignore him if he denies the truth of 1 John 4.

True, but have you seen American Gospel/Christ Alone on Netflix? SO GOOD! Talks about the prosperity Gospel and the greed and corruption within some of the worlds most famous...and richest...”preachers” and “evangelists”. Take Benny Hinn who performs “faith healings”. They are a shame. Then you have Kenneth Copeland who proclaims sending him money will make you weathier and such. Many others performing false healing in the streets and such. It’s here. Will only get worse I agree with you whole heartedly.

My interpretation is that the timeline is irrelevant. There has been multiple false prophets since the time of Christ. Some of which have formed churches of their own. It doesn't matter if that timeline is a day or two thousand years. Time is nothing to God; after all to God our lives are like a vapor - here one instant, gone the next - and false prophets come and go from generation to generation.

The original point I made still stands: No one can predict when the end times are upon us, however like Christ warned, it is coming soon.
