In the century that followed, Star Fleet butched it up quite a bit to reach their apex with James T. Kirk. Even Lt. Sulu had to hide in the closet.
But by the third season Chekov took over real control of the Enterprise because Russia, Russia, Russia.

Star Trek should have learned from Star Wars. You can kill a franchise.

Star Trek went into the toilet with the very first spinoff.

I have followed the series, but no more.

They tried something similar with Dr. Who and ruined the series.

This show is a mega-turd of virtue signaling. Super-characters, all female, minority or gay, schooling all the stupid and/or 'toxic' white guys and showing that the utterly unlikeable black female lead character is actually the one that caused everything good in Star Trek to happen.
Woke lecturing is the top priority of the writers, good entertaining stories are way, way down on the list. Unsurprisingly this vanity project of the woke producers is so bad it cannot get international distribution when even promoter of uber-crap, Netflix, dropped out. So of course what do they do to win back investors? Obviously introduce a non0binart trans character that will be loved by all, super good at it's job, and saves the day a lot. That should do the trick.

Since when have sex parts mattered on Star Trek?

Adira? Londo Mollari's wife is non-binary? Dang, I thought she was pretty pleasant to look at, though she needed some hair...

Why not, it is fiction after all.

Funny how these woke people want total acceptance but they’re always pointing out the differences and keeping score. I’m not.

Considering the series is available ONLY by subscription to the “CBS All Access” streaming service, do they really have a following? Do they really think this move will bring in subscribers?
