Thanks for sharing; the issue I have is the greasy residue that doesn’t just stay on the cookware, but ends up on your hands as well. Lava soap is definitely a help!
Cast iron uses that residual grass as an advantage.
Scrape off all the food (scrubber, chain mail (!), sand), rinse in hot water, then dry on heat just until it starts to smoke - last step polymerizes oils, adding a protective no-stick layer akin to primitive Teflon.
