Necromancy is communicating with Demonic spirits masquerading as dead relatives or associates. This practice is not new and not novel. It has occurred since Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden. Occurring primarily in pagan Shaman cultures, it was eschewed in Judeo-Christian cultures because of God's direct warning against it. From America's founding, Necromancy was mostly eschewed and taboo because of our Christian conscience with incidents like the Salem Witch trials being exceptions.
However, recently Necromancy has become mainstreamed by the likes of the "Long Island Medium" and others. Why did God sternly warn against it? Necromancers are not actually speaking with disembodied spirits of relatives, associates, or loved ones. They are speaking with Demons (called familiar spirits in the Bible). They are called "familiar spirits" because they act like they are a dead relative or associate and may actually know intimate things about the dead relative or associate. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (and Hebrews 9:27) say that when a person dies they immediately go to stand before the Lord. Therefore the necromancy (like Tituba in the Salem Witch Trial event) is not speaking with a dead relative, but there are speaking with a demon masquerading as a dead relative (Lev 19 - 20)
The God of the Bible warns whoever practices Necromancy will be cut off.

I find this reassuring. Any organization that relies on “spirits” to guide it is bound to fail. Sort of like the jihadis who rely on Allah to guide their bullets. I wish the NVA had done that.
