The Pac-12 is joining the rest of the Power Five for fall football.
A week after the Big Ten reversed course on postponing the 2020 season because of the coronavirus, the Pac-12 is following suit, the conference announced Thursday. Teams with necessary state and local health approvals are set begin a seven-game season on Nov. 6 after voting to play. The conferences schedule will be released in the coming days and no fans will be allowed at games taking place on campuses.
The Pac-12 championship game will be played Dec. 18, and the conference says teams will be eligible to be selected for the College Football Playoff.
Just like the Big Ten, the Pac-12 cited consistent access to sufficient testing in announcing its decision.
From the beginning of this crisis, our focus has been on following the science, data and counsel of our public health and infectious disease experts, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said in a statement. Our agreement with Quidel to provide daily rapid-results testing has been a game-changer in enabling us to move forward with confidence that we can create a safe environment for our student-athletes while giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams. At the same time, we will continue to monitor health conditions and data and be ready to adjust as required in the name of the health of all.
The mens and womens basketball seasons can begin on Nov. 25. Other winter sports including wrestling, womens gymnastics and mens and womens swimming and diving will also be permitted to return.

Its a little late for the whiners to start coming around.
Not too late. Fauci wanted sports banned for 2 years.
If even one of them takes a knee on our anthem I’m gone.
Any thoughts what the Pac10 university cities will look like three days after an election night Trump landslide?
10/10 Texas - OU
all about a $66M payout from the College Football Playoff TV money....
PAC-12 football is an oxymoron. Who cares!
“seven-game season”
Several players test positive for the kungflu, what happens then?
our focus has been on following the science
Oh boy do I hate that moronic phrase.
cowards. The SEC never considered no season
Do like Obama and Biden did, stop testing.
The Oregon teams will feature ANTIFA riots at halftime.
LOL!
Just before the PAC12 cancelled the season a couple months ago, a bunch of the players for all the schools submitted a list of “demands” that had to be met or else they wouldn’t play. One of the demands was that the players would get 50% of the income from the games (including tv contracts). Hahaha.
I wonder what the status of that is now.
The P_ssy 12 got dragged kicking and screaming into the season.
Is it just a coincidence that they’ve delayed their season until after the election? Or did the leftist Presidents of Berkeley, Washington, UCLA, etc. fear that a startup before the election would help Trump?
How the hell are they going to start on Nov.6 and play a championship on Dec 18?
2 games a week?
