Dang, we’re in for another Run of Death, I can see. I loved his “Emily Suzanne” and “Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me.”

North Dallas Forty. His first acting gig, and a memorable one.

Not quite sure if it a good or bad thing when ‘they’ start dying younger than you...(AND they are ‘oldish’)

First Helen Reddy, now Mac Davis. RIP.Both with #1 hits on Billboard's hot 100 a few weeks apart in '72 (I Am Woman and Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me).
Re Helen, I especially liked Delta Dawn. Re Mac, I miss hearing One H*ll of a Woman and Stop and Smell the Roses (hardly heard either since they were new).
RIP Helen and Mac. And Mac, say hi to Pete Gent (creator of your North Dallas Forty character) for us.

So Elvis didn’t write “In the Ghetto” himself? You learn something new every day.
To: PallMal
Didn’t know about Helen Reddy. I was never a fan.
She was sort of the face of obnoxious feminism back in the day. Though she did manage to chart an impressive number of songs in the 70’s.

Wow. The first commercial recording of “I Believe in Music” was by Helen Reddy, who also died yesterday. Two big musical stars from the 70s on the same day.

Helen Reddy. The “I Am Woman; hear me whine, moan, complain and nag” woman?
