The NFL’s first coronavirus outbreak worsened over the weekend, as three more members of the Tennessee Titans, including one unidentified player, tested positive on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

In total, 16 members of the Titans organization — eight players and eight staff members — have tested positive for the virus since late September, when the Titans became the first team to have multiple players and other personnel contract the virus in the 2020 season.

The Titans’ additional cases were quickly overshadowed by news of Patriots star quarterback Cam Newton contracting the virus, which led to Sunday’s game between the Patriots and Chiefs being tentatively postponed until Monday or Tuesday. Kansas City practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta’amu also tested positive for the virus, according to multiple reports.

Good—strong, healthy players will not be in danger and season will get canceled. Win win!

Was is getting the virus considered a crisis? Getting deathly ill is a crisis but young athletes have just about zero chance of dying from this or even getting seriously ill. The virus running it s course with colleges is a good thing. Every young healthy person who contracts this is doing the older less healthy population a huge favor.

Too fricking bad. If we had let the virus spend itself naturally we would have been done with it long ago. All we did was slow the spread to stretch it out for dramatic effect. We could have isolated the more susceptible and allowed the immune system of the entire country deal with it.

The NFL is nonessential. Cancel the season and get it over with. And no government loans when the cash reserves run out. The cost structure is out of whack.

Living in a bubble weakens their immune systems. I believe that that reasonable exposure will strengthen immunities and herd immunity will
Protect the general population.

“ And no government loans when the cash reserves run out. The cost structure is out of whack.”

More than that.

A lot of the owners are highly leveraged, and their future expense plans have presumed continuous annual double digit revenue increases. Look at the absurd “stadium” (I don’t even know what to call the whole project) in LA, which will (if it survives) eventually be a theme park, football venue, high end shopping mall, TV set for enhanced anti-American propaganda, etc, etc,

The whole project is >$ 6 billion. An enormous act of hubris, to even conceive of it.

And watching it all collapse will be glorious.

Looks like the bankers will be left by the desert or forest roadside. The banker’s ride willcome to an end
