Gal Gadot is beautiful and played Wonder Woman very well.
The modern Jewish people are, by and large, the descendants of the Biblical Jews, a Middle Eastern people. The genetic evidence is compelling, even if you choose to deny the strong historical continuity of the Jewish religion and culture from Biblical Judah through the many centuries of exile. Choosing an Israeli Jew to play the role of Cleopatra is not much different than, say, choosing a modern English actress to play the role of a medieval German princess.
