but with a heavy long handled DE razor ( Merkur 34C is my current cutter) one can shave dry if in a hurry [ie boot camp], though I prefer at least warm water, or spurge with soapy lather of any kind. I use an old soda can to keep the used blades out of the way safely. Too many people want to take your money for this manly pursuit.

Merkur 34C razor here as well. Feather brand blades, Proraso shave soap with silver tip badger hair brush. I’ll never go back to crappy cartridges. And yes, very inexpensive.
