If there is the opportunity to vote early, should a person do so? I hear people worrying about something happening on election day that would hamper the vote and had planned on going on that day. But, interested in what Freepers think about the subject. Are we okay in waiting? Or if you were me, would you make time to travel across town to the BOE and vote early?
I voted early today. My vote was scanned. Waited about an hour. What’s the Big deal about driving across town?
Requires taking off work and ‘across town’ is probably 20 minutes away.
As opposed to voting in the clubhouse of my subdivision.
I always vote early: 7:00am on Election Day. Cant be too careful.
Seriously, I want to put as little space as possible between the counting and the collecting of the counts. There is too much temptation to engage in shenanigans by certain parties if the opportunity presents itself.
Well, I was planning to vote on Nov 3 as I always have done.
But after reading that there might be some shenanigans by my NC Dem governor on voting day re: the COVID lockdown effort which might mean no voting in person that day, I decided to go ahead and vote early today.
THat is a first for me.
I voted at a Senior Center in curbside voting (due to a handicap).
The person helping me was kind and efficient and it did not take me long at all to do curbside voting. The parking lot was, however, full so it might have been a wait for those who were going in to vote.
All I can say is that it feels good to have cast my vote for Trump/Pence and all the other Republicans on the ballot - and it’s done!
I planned the 3rd but bongino called this out. If the lines are long, many won’t wait on the 3rd. I think I am going Friday
Oh ok. Can any voter use the clubhouse?
I go back and forth with the early voting. I love voting on Election Day and have done so with my husband and kids in the past.
My husband is out voting right now and my daughter is going on Wednesday with her boyfriend who she convinced to register and vote for Trump. She also got two of her girlfriends to do the same. I brought her up right, lol.
My son is also going early because he works on Election day and doesn’t have the time to wait in line.
I have until Saturday to decide. I want to check with the Republican party in my state to see if they need drivers to take people to the polls. If they do, I may vote early so I can do that.
A ballot box was burned in Cali last week. Thats why I vote as close to the determination of a winner as possible.
People are lazy. Since we want our votes counted, we went to the County Courthouse and dropped off our ballots there, and shortly thereafter received notifications that our ballots were received.
It’s one of the polling places in our district, so it encompasses a good-sized section of our town. But, it just happens to be about a 3 minute walk from my house.
Seeing as we're about to have another hurricane come up the gulf this week, what happens if another one decides to head toward say Florida early next week?
I get the desire to vote in-person as part of the voting process. But 2020 is not like any year I've ever encountered. I think I would want to make sure my vote made it into the system.
There are some concerns that knowing how many people have voted early gives the fraud machines the information they need to produce enough fake ballots. I don't think there is a clear-cut answer here.
I voted today by paper ballot and scanned it so I feel comfortable. Those in the FL panhandle should VOTE NOW in case Zeta keeps them away from the polls. South Florida could sway the race if people cant get tom polls ij north Florida. Same for Alabama, LA and Miss.
Sounds easy. Go extra early.
My wife and I voted last Saturday. We’re in probably one of the most Republican parts of North Texas. I’m sure my vote will be counted.
I dropped off my husband’s at the voting place.
Aside from shenanigans on Election Day, there’s always the very real possibility that something more natural might prevent you from voting that day. Hospitalization and death come to mind.
Now you got me thinking about it.... I would early vote at the same place I would vote nov 3, Fairfax city town hall which is 1 mile from my house. Im off work Tuesday and Thursday this week and might pull the handle
GREAT kids! Congrats on raising them right!
And Bless you for being willing to help others get to the polls. That’s a GREAT service!
