San Francisco CrossFit helped broaden the appeal of a type of training that was considered unconventional in the fitness industry when it opened 15 years ago. Now the popular business has become another victim to the pandemic.
CrossFit held a final training session on Sunday then closed for good. Longtime members of the facility said the loss is much bigger than just a gym. They said they will miss the community and the relationships that they’ve built over the years.
“It’s really sad. I mean we’ve been here for 15 years. As you can see, you know, there’s a huge community of people around us. It’s a sad day,” said Juliet Starrett, co-founder of S.F. CrossFit.
Puente also owns House of Bagels with a retail store on Geary Street. They also wholesale to smaller cafes and bakery shops.
“We used to deliver to, like, 400 customers — coffee shops, downtown San Francisco grocery stores, hotels — and now we’re down to maybe 170 customers per delivery. And all those coffee shops are basically closed, ” said Puente.
He said his retail store is also down by about 40 percent in sales.

I, for one, am really, really tired of seeing the "it's so sad" comment in response to the government's destruction of the economy, people's businesses and jobs, people's lives. It's, like, all they can muster is a shake of the head, head bowed, a sigh, and the @#!*%$& "we're in this together" line.
I want them to be flaming goddam MAD. Where is the natural and normal human response of rage to being f'ed over, especially by hypocritical asshats in government who break their own diktats?

Our DemonRat Gov Inslee in WA state just shut down the gyms again. I have continued to pay my membership through the entire C-19 scare because I want the terrific people who work there to continue getting paid.
Inslee is trying to kill us for sure. Exercise lowers your blood pressure, keeps you healthy. Sitting around is worse for you than the stupid C-19 scare.
Exercise, eat right, take all the right supplements to boost your immune system.
Really upsetting to see what these botched responses to COVID-19 have been and continue doing to businesses and families around the country.

No one is going back to San Francisco or Silicon Valley and those were some major areas of our customers....

I meant the people who are affected. The gym goers whose gym is closed, the gym owner whose business is decimated. It's so like this generation whose response to something tragic is teddy bears and candles at the scene of a tragedy.
