I've often said that those of us that can sew up a wound, bake bread from scratch and shoot straight will one day rule the world!

My sister has a sign in her sewing room----"Whoever has the most fabric wins."

Is this not the perfect gift for the seamstress?

Love my new Cuisinart vertical wafflemaker. But you know, they don't make a cover for it. I drew a pattern for the cover, cut it out of brown paper, and took advantage of a fabric sale at Joann. Voila!

For 'Simple Straight Line Sewers' like me! Would make a very pretty gift, don't you think?

A pile of Premie Baby Blankets going to 'Project Linus' in the near future.

I found a new group that needs blankets in remembrance of stillborn babies, so I'm going to start working on those this week, too.

Beau said, 'Yep. Because you need ONE MORE organization to volunteer for!' And I said, 'Yes, I do! It's my Retirement and I'll do as I please! Fiddle Dee Dee!' Yes, I actually said that, LOL!

Yes, those are very nice!

Last year, my daughter-in-law asked for Christmas dishes, since she finally had enough cabinet space to store them. So around early November, she requested place mats to use with them. I WAS ON IT. Made her 12 reversible ones that go very nicely with her dishes, plus ordered her a nice table cloth that coordinates. Gave them to her early. She is one who decorates for Christmas, as soon as Halloween is over. So she’s been using them for a month already. She was very happy to have them!

(Then I made 2 more masks, then cleaned and oiled my sewing machine and put it away for awhile...Have gotten fairly backed up on housecleaning chores, so need to focus on that for awhile, in my limited time.)

How kind of you! I know she’ll cherish the mats and table cloth forever. :)

My stepdaughter just sent us Christmas masks. She makes them for all of the people who work with her so they must like her work.

How fun! Very festive!

And, hopefully, none of us will be wearing them much longer!

Hubby is a repeat offender.

I ended up hiding my sewing scissors.

I love the idea of self-bound napkins. Will have to give them a try. Thanks for the idea and the pattern link!

“my daughter-in-law asked for Christmas dishes”

That’s so great that your DIL is interested in tradition! I have a few sets of beautiful China, one set being the Spode Christmas pattern — also some other Spode, and some Lenox. I LITERALLY cannot give them to my nieces. At my age I’d like to clear them out, but would hate to have them go to Goodwill.

My girlfriend has a padlock for her scissors. I think it was made specifically to thwart sewists’ husbands.
