In Oversight & Reform Committee, I questioned LA's Attorney General Landry about the "perverse incentive" created for states when the census counts illegal aliens. As he explains, the current system creates "a competition between states to try to attract illegal immigrants."

But only citizens of the United States should be counted for Apportionment.
Illegal aliens send billions of dollars back HOME. They don’t live here.
They shouldn’t be counted twice or estimates on global population would have to rise to over 10 billion people. Especially if you count those with “dual citizenship” several times.
hopefully someone drew SCOTUS attention to the exchange. It’s exactly what Trump has been saying for years and why he’s taken the issue to SCOTUS.
Money. It’s all about the money. Schools get money per pupil, per head, as it were. Hospitals having to treat more illegals(no insurance) , more money.
IIRC, Mexico’s largest contributor to the GDP is money sent home from the USA!
