If you received Unemployment Insurance benefits, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) will provide you with Income Tax Form 1099-G (Certain Government Payments). However, the form will no longer be automatically mailed.
[Emphasis added]
[This may be relevant to you if you received any payment from any State. I don't know. But I just received a Deficiency Notice from the IRS.]
I just received a Deficiency Notice from the IRS for 2018 that includes a $233 interest charge. I can also expect to have to pay more for 2019 as my wife also received unemployment compensation during 2019. I really don't pay much attention. I just gather all those Important Tax Notices I receive during January and send them off to my accountant.
[You might notice that the link I gave is to some independent website my wife found. When I searched NJ websites for information about this, I found more about COVID than I did about 1099s. E.g. https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/faqs1099.shtml gets one to a page headed by "Coronavirus is still active in NJ. Wear a mask. Keep a 6ft. distance in public."]

I smell truck farm fertilizer in this ugly NJ activity. Can you say ‘user-surly’ behavior by our beloved government MASTERS?
Didn’t you even receive an email notification of your payments?
Not that I am aware of. My wife might have though, and neglected to inform me about it/them. I don't look at her email.

I’m afraid Uncle Sugar has you by the short hairs here. Whether or not you got a summary of bennies, you did get the bennies...
Who do you think you are? Hunter Biden”
I'm not complaining about the tax I have to pay on the income, though I might do that too.
I was complaining about the fact that the State government is EXEMPT from laws (or maybe regulations?) that my business is forced to comply with; and also that this has forced me to pay an extra $233 to the Federales.

Freakin’ amazing!
They can get mail in ballots out even to dead people but can’t get necessary tax documents out to the people that need them.
I hear you. The measly 2 or 3 1099’s I need to send out are a pain. And obviously the Feds got a summary, so you should have, too, by US mail, just as Social Security does. And $233 over and above the tax is usurious, IMHO.
