Season 5 of The Expanse has started on Prime. New episodes released on Wednesday. Three episodes are released as of this posting. The quality of the sets, the camera work and the special effects is/are outstanding.

I had to stop watching because of the adult words. Every other word was a curse word. I am a big scifi fan.
It was mostly limited to that episode. Episode 3 was tamed down.

I especially liked seasons 1 thru 3. Season 4 seemed a bit slow. I heard good things about season 5.
You’re right. Sets, special effects, and scenes are great. They try to portray space travel, with essentially our level of technology +100 years, in a realistic manner. What makes this show, what makes any Sci-Fi show, are great characters.
Yeah. I hear ya. I gave up on Deadwood for that reason. I also got tired of Katee Sackhoff in the BS Galactica remake with her "frack, frack, frack" trying to evade the censors. They could have been so much more creative
The Expanse might not be perfect, but it’s arguably the best science fiction TV series I’ve seen. I’ll live with the occasional over-the-top swearing.

Why do they have to do that? Great story, great effects, great acting... Adult stuff not needed.
One of the great pleasures of raising my older son was watching Star Trek Next Gen together. Didn’t have to worry about stuff like that.
But today? Whatever the latest Star Trek is, they lost me when the two gay characters got too friendly. Stupid - No need for that story element. Plays no part, except to pander to LGBTWXYZ crowd.
Pleeeeaaaase don’t let it go gay, like netflix has done to ruin several series I had gotten into (and why I quit Netflix, plus the Obamas).

I do have a comment on the label “adult language” etc, I understand what
they are getting at. But it’s anything but adult. Very immature imo.

I heard they got rid of the actor who plays the pilot though. He got MeToo’s without any evidence. I won’t watch a season that doesn’t have him in it.
I’m re-watching all of season 4 right now.
Wish they’d have released the whole season like they did the other four.
And Star Trek Picard had people dropping F-bombs and going through nihilistic rants.
Meanwhile, Kirk didn’t even know how to cuss in that movie with the whales. “A double dumbass on you!”
Alex Kamal? He’s listed in the season 5 credits, though.
I like him.....and his lasagna.
Alex is still there big part in Episode 3
Season 6 will be it’s final season.
My favorite characters are Amos, Bobbie and, of course, Avasarala.
