This is one of the reasons I built a steel sailboat.

Was the welding tricky with that?

Not tricky at all. I can (or could, then) weld all metals with stick, MIG and TIG. But I built that steel boat outside with a stick welder, using about 10% 1/8" 6011 rods (for root passes on plate welds), 80% 1/8" 6013 rods, and 10% various this and that (mostly stainless steel rods).

Here is the biggest middle frame going up, at the beginning.
