Hopefully its the 1st of a thousand plagues.
Probably higher and further away than it looked. Saw something similar years ago - it lasted over 20 minutes because it was at 40,000 ft traveling on a long angle to the earth’s surface over 300 miles away
“I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.”
Why couldn’t it have hit The Three Gorges Dam?
I looked at all the photos and videos...I didn’t see even one stunned person.
The best view I’ve ever had of a Bolide was when I was piloting an aircraft over Georgia during the daytime at about 8K ft. One passed in front of the aircraft about 1 mile away. Super bright with a small tail...It appeared to burn out prior to hitting the ground.....
It definitely caught my attention, a once in a lifetime event...
Their beebers were stuned.
China is a very large country.
Depending on how out in the open this witness was, it could have taken some moments.
I used to have a hot tub at the old house. Me and wifey would soak with snow falling down and freezing temperatures. We’d watch one of the comets for a few nights (Hale-Bopp?). I enjoyed those very much. Not sure if the high temps is good for my blood pressure though.
Three minutes??
That is one slow moving meteor.
It probably decelerated a lot from its initial high speed, and even then is exaggerated time.
Back in the 80’s, we were duck hunting west of Omaha and at about 6:00 a.m. we saw one in the western sky. Not as bright as the one in the video but we all looked at each other for a minute like, “what the hell did we just see?” Pretty cool.
They were expecting an Earth shattering kaboom.
