I’m debating. I want to be able to vote against GOPe candidates in the primary and do a lot of groundwork for a good guy. I would love them to see a major drop off of republican voters in the general. Trump voters should not be suckered into the horse race ever again.
I’ve always been registered as an independent but voted straight-ticket Repub 95% of the time. I will no longer be doing that and the Party will never see a penny from me. The definition of insanity is. . . well, you all know the rest of that definition. Hoping Trump, if he survives, starts a new Party. Then I’m all in.
Working within the party for change has been a bust for decades. 10 years ago we had the tea party that elected a bunch of people and half of them turned out to be lying snakes who only pretended to support us (like Jeff Flake and Marco Rubio) and the others got crushed under the boots of the other Repubs in congress, marginalized and ignored. Then we sent Trump and the republicans blocked him, supported his persecutors, going so far as to intentionally turn over the house to the dems in 2018 (and yes, it was intentional). Tie to face it: they hate us. Anyone who rises that isn't on board with having utter contempt for us is treated as a pariah and given no power.
I think the GOP is beyond salvage.
Bad idea....choose wisely in the primaries.
