Amazon's censorship is too much. Got along okay before Amazon, can get along without them now.
Yes, I cancelled my Prime account two days ago. Losing Prime is the one that will really hurt them.
I make a point to find everything I buy online ANYWHERE but Amazon and have done that for years. What’s taking all of you so long? The vast majority of people who use Amazon would vote liberal, leftist. It goes hand in hand.
Don’t delete your account. Another FReeper had a good idea yesterday: Go back and give everything you purchased a 1-star rating, and explain that Amazon’s service is awful. It will piss off the Amazon vendors and maybe motivate them to sell their products elsewhere.
What is Amazon?
Canceled prime 2 days ago.
I will use their website to find the actual manufacturers and order from directly, if possible.
This is an excellent idea. One could even order a an item or two every month and return it broken.
If BiteMe is inaugurated, instead of watching I think we should wait and have a nationwide opt out day.
Keep your powder dry and wait til noon on inauguration day to cut the cord, drop Prime, switch cell providers, cancel subscriptions, club memberships, etc.
All on the same damn day.
If enough of us do it together, that will send an even louder message
You can get most of the services they offer from other vendors.
Books...
hard goods...
groceries...
electronics...
clothing...
Video...
etc...
..at other on line stores, just not in one place.
Crushing smaller independent and local alternative is all a part of the plan to make make the tribes dependent on the Great Father in Washington DC.
Our ancestors killed the buffalo......the Commies are gutting the Main Street economy.
“even order a an item or two every month and return it broken.”
Or ... order large orders of Chinese junk, and return them all. Do it every day.
Disagree about the vast majority thing, but even so I agree with your decision to cancel Prime. I intend to do the same at some point, but currently I’m working on cancelling our TV cable, migrating from Windows 10 to Linux, changing email provider to protonmail, etc. It is not a simple task to migrate away from big tech, especially for a family.
Yep. Canceled Prime some time ago
There’s a variety of stores we will no longer shop at bed Bath and beyond being one of them which gave $1 million to blm
Weve cut back substantially on TV viewing, esp sports. Found out don’t need them at all just a waste of time
documentaries an old shows prevail now.
Also dropped Netflix
When shopping we put decisions thru an extra test. do we really need this? If the answer is no and especially if it’s made in China and it’s not going to be bought
Same yesterday
My renewal date was today. Cancelled.
I’m conflicted about this I have boycotted so many companies Amazon is one of the last one I have not. I seriously doubt we’ll be able to make a dent in their business. I do like the idea of giving everything crappy ratings or hounding them about being fascists. At some point I have run out of companies to boycott.
It may not matter if, like Twitter and Facebook, the real point of Amazon was NEVER making a profit.
I’m going to do the opposite. I’m going to flood them with small orders they can’t possibly make money on. I’ll never combine items into a single order, never buy more than one of anything, use all the free things on books, music, TV, etc., and make all large purchases elsewhere. Sam’s Club, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, AutoZone etc. have equally fast deliveries and pickups and are competitive on price.
Read what I wrote please. I have NEVER had Prime and I don’t use Amazon almost at all. My wife has and was just told to not ever order there again.
I think the first place to make a difference is everyone needs to cut their cable and have internet only. Then pick and chose the media platforms you want to support.
