After Twitter banned President Trump, and the hosting company Amazon Web Services suspended conservative network Parler, another social media site found its name in the news: Gab. The site, which looks like a mash-up of Twitter and Facebook, calls itself “the free speech social network” and has welcomed extremist right-wing figures and believers of QAnon, the loose collection of conspiracy theories that touch on everything from politics to covid-19.

When a Post reporter reached out to Torba for comment on new developments on Gab over the weekend, he responded with an insult and declined to comment.
Been addressed by Torba. Little jeffy bezos——dismissed.
I just signed up today!
Deep State Media goes after its next target.
Bfl
And the Washington post welcomes extremists who want to burn down the cities, antifa fascists and people who steal elections. These people are afraid of us!
Any OCI integrators here?
It seems that the Washington Post has welcomed Stalinists and Maoists into it’s staff rooms and Editorial board. This FACT needs to be pointed out.
If antifa doesn’t exist, neither does QAnon.
On another note, can anyone list anything the democrats or the media take responibility for?
So did I. Another ridiculous and inflammatory headline from the Washington Compost.
I dug that and I really dug the comment about not apologizing for anything — “Who I was years ago made me who I am today. I’ve learned, loved, and grown. I won’t apologize for that.” Simply beautiful...
Extremists in 2020
Loves the United States and what it stands for
Supports the US Constitution
Demands it’s elected officials adhere to their oaths
Demands fair Constitutional elections
Supports the police
Is mystified why riots go ten months without being called riots
Respects all members of the human race
Respects law and order and promotes morals and good values
Imagine what a depraved mind you have to have, to see these people as
Extremists.
Are newsgroups still a thing?
I haven’t been on one since the ‘90s or very early 2000’s.
Still can’t get on.
I’m having trouble getting gab to open for me. I tried on computer and phone. Weird.
Hmmm, wonder why the Washington Post doesn’t start their OWN social media website
Told you all.
Those who are really now in power will never relinquish it.
We saw the same thing in the private sector back in 2000.
Those who didn’t agree with what HR was pushing were forced out or went underground.
California is now in power and they will never give it up.
The Clinton’s, Kennedy’s, Bush and the NY political elite are all going to be thrown under the bus in favor of the ultra radical left.
The radical left now controls the media, the DNC, much of the RNC, and State and local gov.
Signed up and although it is very busy, it does still work.
No phone number required, only email (used a protonmail.com account which also required no phone number.
I like the functionality much better than Parler and many familiar faces there already.
One has to take Gab more seriously than Parler, simply judging by their business decisions.
Who in their right mind would start a conservative social media based on Free Speech and have their whole business dependent on Marxist sympathizing anti-American Amazon.
From what I’ve read about Gab, these asshats in the press tried these same stories back when Gab was new, and they came back stronger than ever. For the media to run with the same old horse$hit just claims, tells you just how desperate they are.
