Man, It’s a killer
dangerous stuff. LOL!
I was wondering why salt was not mentioned. I love salty foods more than sugar foods
And then you get hit head on by a drunk driver!
“Processed meats include bacon; sausage; hot dogs; ham; deli meats; canned meats; jerky; and meat that is processed, cured, fermented, or salted.”
Consider that they are saying smoked salmon is “dangerous.”
It’s more about your genes than what you eat.
Hey, maybe if you ate right you would even be immune to COVID! /s
What time is dinner?
“ Moderation is the key with all things in life.”
Apparently not so with toxins like alcohol.
Hebrews 9:27. This is an appointment, set by God, that each of us will keep, regardless of our habits.
I recently spoke with a friend who, like me, appreciates science fiction, including “time travel” stories; and unlike me, does not believe in “all that religious stuff”. I paraphrase and abbreviate the conversation.
Him: “Given what you believe, suppose you had time-traveled to 1865 in order to distract John Wilkes Booth and prevent the Lincoln assassination; what might be the outcome?”
Me: “It would be an interesting evening, talking to one of the leading Shakespearean actors of his day, perhaps having a contest of soliloquies; ending with our hearing the news that the President had taken suddenly ill at the theater and subsequently passed away. It was his time to die.”
FWIW...
I am over 81 & I eat whatever I want. PERIOD.
CROSSROADS
by Louise Glück
My body, now that we will not be traveling together much longer
I begin to feel a new tenderness toward you, very raw and unfamiliar,
like what I remember of love when I was young —
love that was so often foolish in its objectives
but never in its choices, its intensities
Too much demanded in advance, too much that could not be promised —
My soul has been so fearful, so violent;
forgive its brutality.
As though it were that soul, my hand moves over you cautiously,
not wishing to give offense
but eager, finally, to achieve expression as substance:
it is not the earth I will miss,
it is you I will miss.
Without looking I assume I do them all
GOOD in vegetables like beets celery and such.
Sort of like MSG BAD BAD BAD (unless you are eating it in sushi then it is GOOD GOOD GOOD)
Eat what you like.
It is worry that will kill you.
My grand parent’s drank like the Italians they were and smoked like chimneys too. Both grand fathers made it into their 90s and one grand mother was 99 when she died peacefully in her sleep my other is still alive at 96 and puts down sambuca on the daily. If you have longevity in your genetics that’s just the way it is. We all eat real butter, smoke, and eat cured meats what Italian wouldn’t. My uncle’s are in their 70 as is my father every one of them smokes cigars daily. If I make it to 90 like my grandfathers I’ll call it a good run.
Which reminds me, it’s Whopper Wednesday at Burger King.
