“It’s hard to lose the illusion, especially when you’d have to get tough without it, and everyone with a voice is stepping up to forswear getting tough. We mustn’t be uncivilized.”
Yep, Everyone on our side keeps repeating the mantra “we’re against violence”. As long as there is that attitude while the other side promotes and engages in violence, we’re going to be on the losing end.
Trump was the only one to point that out.
We’re supposedly the ones with all the assault weapons and ammos, but we’re all armies of ones.
We need a leader to galvanize and organize enough of us to go in the offensive. That leader ain’t going to come from the elected class. Moreover when the time comes for the fight we’re not only fighting the left but all the law enforcement apparatus that are going to be at their disposal, including much of the military.
I’m afraid if and when the time comes it’s going to be a super nasty and protracted guerilla Warfare.
I shoulda read ahead...
dirtbags then: Lincoln Brigade...dirtbags now: Lincoln Project
You nailed it. The oligarchs gambled the People wouldn’t be willing to resort to violence to stop them and that is the only way they will be stopped. So far, it looks like the gamble will pay off for them.
According to Al Capone, he owned the police, which was pretty much true.
Actually, parts of guerilla warfare won’t actually be that bad though. The internet will get cut and the people on Twitter will whine and cry about it.
Just wait. Something like this is bound to cause some serious collateral damage if someone has an itchy trigger finger.
Thats true. However I think there is another facet to their behavior. The hysterical overreaction is setting us up for the next step.
Any sign of violence on the right and they will come down hard. Judging by the overkill from the “insurrection”, they will looking to curtail liberties and invoke terrorism laws.
Please find a piece written by Samuel Francis in Chronicles 1997 entitled “Revolution in the Air”. It’s an amazing, profound piece. You can find it at counter-currents.com, but I doubt FR will allow posts from that site. Francis says there is always an event that triggers the revolution by destroying the authority and the power of the government. My husband thinks this event was the stolen election.
BTW, I get frustrated sometimes because there are often great pieces at sites with some content that FR doesn’t approve of, so you can’t post them. I read lots of sites with content I don’t always agree with.
Fred Reed also has an interesting column about the proposed Chinese digital currency. It’s posted at unz.com (another site FR doesn’t allow). The comments after the story about how government will use national digital currencies to track and control us is sobering.
