HUNT VALLEY, Md. (SBG) — Donald Trump may form a new political party following his departure from the White House.
Trump discussed forming a "Patriot Party" last week with several aides and other people close to him, according to people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
A "Patriot Party National Committee" website says it wants to “restore constitutional conservative leadership” and is “a movement for conservatives that have been left in the cold by the establishment GOP.” The platform promotes “responsible gun ownership,” “family values,” and “fiscal accountability.” Trump's connection to the group is unclear.
Links from the website to Patriot Party Twitter accounts and state party accounts show several of them have been suspended. The website also lists a disabled Parler account. The social media company was removed from its servers over a week ago.

Probably fake. Afterall, in the age of censorship, who would host the real site, and how would it be trustworthy to keep it up?
I would wait until Trump himself says something; and not believe any nebulous ‘report’ from the WSJ.
Reforming the GOP, as opposed to starting over with something new, would seem more plausible if that group didn’t have a track record of sucking for thirty years.
America First Party is a much better idea. Patriot Party just suggests that anyone who doesn't join is unpatriotic. Anyone with even a mildly independent streak will purposely NOT join because they don't like the implication 'Join or else you're a traitor'.
Not a good idea. 80% of the pub party gives us 40% of the population. A formula for losing to the rats every year.

If the TEA party was a template, this Patriot Party is an invitation to deep body cavity searches performed by the IRS and other government agencies.
The way to fix this problem was when he was somewhat inside the government in the oval office.
Freedom Party sounds better, imo.

I agree. But then, many on the right have a history of coming up with dumb names. "True the Vote" was a dumb name. "Stop the Steal" wasn't very good. We need help getting the idea across in an attractive way. Many hard-core conservatives I know, even educated ones, have no aesthetic sense at all. We're engineers, dammit, Jim, not English majors!
The only way a third party would work is if we could bring a lot of democrats across with us. Raising wages, reducing unemployment, sentencing reform, what's for 75% the democrats not to like? But they've been so poisoned against Trump their hate makes them vote against their self interest. Break that nut, and you have a whole new country.

I would support a business venture allowing our side to have more say in terms of news and entertainment.
A splinter party? Not as helpful. Definitely not as Step 1. Perhaps as Step 2, after we have a voice that can’t be silenced.
Agreed. This is really a contest between Freedom and the global police state.
Freedom is a concept that even brainwashed tools can understand. Forcing the commies to overtly condemn Freedom is a powerful weapon that can be used against them.
