A West Virginia mom allegedly upset over her husband’s recent absence fatally shot her five children and set their house on fire before turning the gun on herself, authorities said this week.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday revealed 25-year-old Oreanna Antoinette Myers killed her three kids and two stepchildren on Dec. 8, then set their two-story house near Williamsburg, West Virginia, ablaze. Immediately after, Myers shot herself, authorities said.
The children have been identified as Shaun Dawson Bumgarner, 7; Riley James Bumgarner, 6; Kian Myers, 4; Aarikyle Nova Myers, 3; and Haiken Jirachi Myers, 1.

Heartbreaking. The horror the children must’ve endured. When I read this story earlier, I thought of that Texas mom who drowned her 5 children 20 years ago.
There is evil in the world, sometimes horrible evil.
But the evil that could cause a woman kill her children makes me tremble in fear.
RIP little ones...
Ever hear of abortion?
Biden’s fault.
And Kamala’s.
Highly unusual for a woman to use firearms as a means to do this. Mothers who do this sort of thing more typically take a more hands-on approach, using pills, poison, drowning, suffocation, etc. to murder their children. It’s typically men who use firearms in crimes of passion or insanity.
Either way, absolutely horrible outcome. Mental health really is something we need to get better about addressing in this country. The guns were never an issue here; the woman willing to use a gun or whatever other tool was available to murder her children: THAT was the issue.
At least she killed herself and didn’t blame a black guy like susan did.
This will be one of the reasons Joementia will use to gut the Second Amendment. Never let a tragedy go to waste.
In re mental health the article said she had no history of issues and cps had never been called out.
Also while I am all for mental health there is no evidence that our current style of encouraging nutty behavior and medicating is healing anybody.
Post-partum psychosis.
Very sad.
She should have called the police on herself.
Could have called a suicide hotline.
I have family members with depression I know it is a monster.
Yes, but I think we can all agree that murdering your own children and then committing suicide indicates a significant lack of mental stability. A lack of documented history doesn't mean there weren't issues. If anything, it demonstrates how poor we are at identifying people who are on their way to a tragic end.
"Also while I am all for mental health there is no evidence that our current style of encouraging nutty behavior and medicating is healing anybody."
Oh I definitely agree, and that was really my point. We've all but completely stopped trying to provide any real identification of mental health issues and sustainable treatment. This is a major driver with homelessness, drug abuse, domestic abuse, etc. Our side brings this up every time there's a mass shooting, but nobody actually DOES anything about it.
It happens in the thousands in the US each day. It’s background noise to us now. A constant drumbeat of evil.
COVID19 victims
The COVID19 hoax is causing mass hysteria and mass suicide
I say Monk is needed to check out the husband.
The suicide note left in the car that gives her husband an alibi. Sounds too carefully planned for a 25 year old with "mental health issues" .......she wants everyone to know that mental health needs are serious...was crying out for help. Just too neatly tied up.
Paging Monk to WV STAT
Maybe this happened to her.

Twenty Five with five kids she probably had serious postpartum depression!!
The youngest child was 1 year old. It’s possible that this woman was suffering from Post Partum Depression.
I’ve read many times about women not being in their clearest state of mind after the birth of a child.
Actress Brooke Shields had a very difficult time after her child was born back in 2005. She wanted to be happy, but found herself thinking about suicide or having visions of seeing her infant being treated with violence. She found herself crying more than the baby was. Luckily, her husband stuck with her and they found the right treatment for Brook’s depression.
Brooke writes about this in a book called “Down Came The Rain”.
Two step-children were six and seven.
