The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, has hired General Atomics, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, to craft designs for an air-launched missile-toting air-to-air combat drone as part of a program called LongShot. In concept, a larger manned aircraft would fire this unmanned air vehicle, which could then fly to a certain area and engage multiple aerial threats with its own weapons. This, in turn, would extend the range of the launch platform and reduce its vulnerability to hostile aircraft or air defenses, among many other benefits.

I posted a few of these military articles to shake things up from the typically depressing covid Trump biden stories that flood FR daily..
who are they developing for?
Black hats, again? CCP? for Sale, again.
Wait for the mini drone explosive swarms.
Love that scene in the movie "Angel has Fallen"
Great series, silly over the top action, but fun......
I haven’t seen that. I was thinking along the lines of a Michael Crichton book, and I think GI Joe or Star Trek maybe? (not good movies...)
That scene was pretty scary considering how real it was.
It’s a trilogy of movies (in order): Olympus has Fallen, London has Fallen and Angel has Fallen......
As I stated, over-the-top action movies....but all are very entertaining, decently acted, directed, decent plot (for an action movie), and quality filmed......
“Olympus Has Fallen” is a hostile takeover of the Whitehouse by terrorists...
“London Has Fallen” is an attempt to capture the US President at a state funeral in London.....
“Angel Has Fallen” is about an attempt at the President’s life on US soil.
All revolve around a Secret Service Agent (played by Gerald Butler) and his efforts to protect the President.
The movies aren’t really politically-themed so you won’t be gagging through the movie.......
What made that scene so frightening is that the technology and capability to conduct that type of attack is currently available.....
Not just at a state level but down to terrorist capability.....
I saw the first one. So the next two are worth checking out?
For fun and action, rather than a truly good movie?
Absolutely! They got better on each one.....
If you want a fantastic movie watch “The Irishman”, but set aside some time, it’s 3 1/2 hours long.
It’s about the Philly mob, Teamsters, and eventually the US Government.
DiNiro, Pacino, Pesci at their acting best not to mention a host of other great actors. I know, their personal politics are reprehensible but they are at the top of their craft in this movie.....

I can't wait until they make it "just a game" on the computer.
Both sides agree to the rules, {heh, heh} and then the competing computer programs "fight" the war.
Why bother with drones and drones and drones, just skip to the computer program, and go to bed.
yup
I live right outside Philly, and I’m Irish, so I’ll have to check it out.
Wasn’t that a Star Trek episode?
The computer calculated the number of casualties from the virtual war then a same amount of citizens were forced into a euthanasia chamber to satisfy the treaties.
Yes, from the original series an episode called “A Taste of Armageddon.” That post reminded me of it too.
The filmmakers picture our favorite Philly restaurant...
Villa da Roma in Little Italy.....
Right around the way from “Little Saigon”...
Little Italy has shrunk down to almost nothing......
30 years ago it was a cultural immersion......
Yep. Essentially every city in America is ruined.
Developing them?
You mean they have not already air-to-air equipped Predator drones, etc. with them yet?
