Members of the Maine Republican Party state committee are condemning "in the strongest possible terms" Republican Sen. Susan Collins' vote to convict former President Donald Trump in his impeachment trial this month -- another sign of the backlash against lawmakers who bucked Trump, but one that may not have immediate impact given that Collins just won a fifth term.
"We vehemently disagree with your vote on this matter and condemn it in the strongest possible terms," members of the committee -- including the state party's chair and vice chair -- wrote in a letter to Collins posted to Facebook on Wednesday, adding that they had heard from Mainers all over the state who were "almost universally outraged at this action and have demanded we take action in response."
The letter comes in the wake of local reports that the committee was weighing a formal censure of Collins for her decision to find Trump guilty of inciting an insurrection. The Maine GOP did not reply to CNN's multiple requests for comment, including whether the committee was planning on censuring Collins.

they actua’ly have not done anything yet.
i don’t expect them to.
So tired of her yapping. Get lost!
She has been considered a nutburger for years. Recall her or primary her, she is a deadhead for the people of Maine.
Collins is another perfect example of why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed
Of course, based on their experiences with Suzie, they just never anticipated that she would ever do such a thing, did they, eh?

Sorry people, but she voted for Trump’s judges, all of them, and she’s from Maine. I have better things to do than think that we could EVER elect a Constitutional Conservative like Cruz, from a state like Maine (well, maybe Cruz isn’t the best example these days, but my point is made).
B-F-D ... as #2 said nothing has really been done. Is she going to lose her pension? Ten lashes? Forfeit a months pay?
Unless people start actually suffering real, sometimes painful consequences for their actions, nothing will change.
I think Texas should send Ted Cruz to Maine
She won her seat in Maine in a landslide by 12 points
In Maine
A blue state
She can do whatever the heck she pleases, we can’t stop her, nor replace her, unless we replace with a democrat who would be 100x worse and crazier then she is.
Now Alaska and other red states can and will do better.
Susan Collins is a waste of our time trying to defeat.
We hold our noses while voting for Collins. Our choice is a liberal dim, so she’s the lesser of two evils. Sometimes she does good, most times not. I’m fairly confident this is her last term. She will certainly not get my vote anymore.
About time she got bitch-slapped.
Paul LePage
After the disaster that Janet Mills has wrought, the timing is good.
Would a boycott of S.W. Collins be noticed?
Note to state Republicans: If you want to do something meaningful: REPEAL RANKED CHOICE VOTING.
“Independent” LePage voted to convict Trump in his last impeachment.
This condemnation in the strongest terms possible has about as much effect as saying “bad dog”.
Ditto for me.
The Maine Republican Party dropped the ball completely on rank-choice-voting. It was clear that the strongest advocates of the procedure were hard-core leftists and Republican candidates would be impacted (in a negative sense) by it. Yet, there was no organized opposition from the Republican party for it.
