I never thought about adding capers.
I always toss in a bit of sweet relish as well (probably sacrilege).

Most Mayo has lemon in it. And I prefer Solid White Albacore tuna. Costco Kirkland is very good.

I never knew about the citrus. Only a teaspoon, too. That’s barely any.A squeeze of lemon is most helpful for the darker shades of tuna, including chunk light. We omit the lemon for white albacore (tastes like chicken--Ha!).

My mother almost always made tuna salad with sweet pickle relish. Her family was from Virginia and they liked things on the sweet side.
Best tuna salad ever.
