Monday afternoon, around 4, I got a request for a crocheted item and it was a heart squeezer/melter - my little 2.5 year old great niece was asking for an egg apron! I made her sister one 2 years ago. They have a new chicken flock that just started laying - got a dozen eggs on Monday. I got an adorable picture with the request of this little girl holding eggs in her hands (next to her big sister wearing her egg apron) & I got busy! I ran to the store immediately (Walmart & Hobby Lobby - they're close by), got cotton yarn & started crocheting .... stopped at 1:45 am Tuesday morning, picked up the hook at 7 am yesterday & by noon, all the crochet was done. Next was sewing on the bands for the egg pockets, then making the individual pockets. Doing the pockets is a real "pain" ... after a few short breaks, working on how I could do things 'easier" (no real luck here), and a trip outside to feed the birds, I was finally totally finished at midnight last night. The egg apron went in the mail this morning & should arrive at its destination by Saturday. Btw, her mom tells me her favorite color is purple. I can't wait to see the first pictures ....

You can play around with height & width numbers, but the ones above are a good starting place.
Great job on the EGG APRON! I, too, would have been influenced to work on that as an emergency, if asked by a 2.5 year old! I bet she’ll be delighted.
The bike was not impressive. The train, however...
I’m still trying to shut my mouth from the amazement! LOL!
And here I was, patting myself on the back for getting three stripes of a Betsy Ross flag started!

There’s one of a H-D MOTORCYCLE around somewhere.................
Here is the baby blanket - VERY pleased with how it turned out. It is a Kristin Holloway pattern. I love her designs. This design works for a girl or boy - being a boy, I did it in Simply Soft Country Blue yarn. For some reason, the nursery rhyme "Little Boy Blue come blow your horn" kept going through my mind. The card is of Little Boy Blue (I have a prayer on the back) & I gave his mom 'The Real Mother Goose' nursery rhyme book that has the LBB rhyme (among MANY others) in the book. Baby is due end of May - she can use the blanket as a lap robe until then and read to him while waiting for his arrival.

This scarf pattern is something I came up with a couple of years ago and it's easy, plus I've gotten a lot of good comments on it, so I keep using it - works for guys & gals. It's long - I usually end up with something about 66" & the width is 7.5" A rule of thumb for long scarves is that it should be about the height of the person wearing it - this gives them enough room to wrap the scarf around their neck once & the ends hang around waist level. The length can be adjusted up/down for someone who is petite or tall.
I like doing these scarves in Vanna's Choice (VC). As a "4/medium" weight yarn goes, VC is on the "hefty" end which makes for a nice 'squishy' scarf due to the ribbing.
The color of this one is "Silver Blue", which IMO is just gorgeous. The recipient is a stunning brunette - saw a picture of her in a gown in this color & it suits her. It takes 3 skeins of VC to do a scarf in this pattern & with the longer length.
The scarf main body is done - I just need to weave in ends and add fringe or tassels.
That is an adorable idea and project!
