I have been using brave successfully for at least 5 years. This password issue upends my life.

I hate to say it, but I will, because it’s true: use Mac and you won’t have this issue.

Brave is open source. The encrypted file on your computer holding the passwords was likely deleted by MS. But deleting it doesn’t mean erasing it. Find it and restore it. Then make a backup copy ready to replace in case it happens again.

I use Brave and have had none of these problems, and I have Windows 10.

There must be a setting in Brave that you need to look at ..............

You could keep your passwords on a password protected thumb drive which you could remove when not in use for extra security. Don’t forget to back up your passwords to another medium once in a while, perhaps optical.

This is the second time MS update has wiped my passwords.

Interestingly the browser acts hinky while it is waiting for the go ahead to update that I postpone.

I use brave as my primary browser on two computers one is windows 7 the other is windows 10. Other browsers installed and occasionally used are firefox, edge and chrome.

None of them ever lose passwords upon updates. You have settings out of whack somewhere.

No, mine is updated automatically. Haven’t had any problems at all.

Have you updated Brave to its latest version?

Perhaps there is a connection..................
