The issue is not the production of toilet paper. It is the fact that there is a world wide shortage of the containers at the ports. We are experiencing it in the shipment of lumber from Europe. There are not enough containers getting back to Europe and Asia. The containers are here in the west and in Europe. The empties are not moving back fast enough to Asia.
Also, there were some container ships moth balled and out of service because traffic slowed down last year.
Well, now we know what’s in the hold of that mega ship grounded in the Suez canal.
S. S. Bounty my ass! The S.S Whipple is more like it.
I placed a large order yesterday from walmart.com of non-perishable items to be shipped to my home - toilet paper, dishwasher pods, etc. Before the end of the day more than half of my order had been cancelled by WalMart. I feel that more shortages are coming.
Blame the folks turning shipping containers into houses.
Has anyone used up their 2020 tp?
Grocery stores still have shortages of food yet we’re worried about tp.
So, upward goes the price of the fashionable container mini-homes. What will people do now, cardboard boxes?
20’ used containers are going for $1000 or less on the equipment auction sites.
The empties are not moving back fast enough to Asia.
= = =
They were treating them like empty beer cans.
Made more selling them in the US after arrival than shipping back.
My theory at the time. Now sounds like a shortage in Asia, due to materials, labor, manufacturing???
