I had to borrow a gas can once, with one of those "safety" spouts.
It was safe alright. Twist and push it said. No matter how much I twisted and pushed, not a single drop came out.
Eventually I had to pour without the spout and made an unholy mess of things.
Just to learn for the next time, I went and bought a spout of the same kind, and it absolutely did not work either.
