Just yesterday I was trying to put diesel into my tractor, balancing 30 pounds in one hand while trying to push the little release so the stupid spout would let the fuel flow, lost the balance and the weight broke the spout - now it's leaking all over my hand and arm but I had to hold it to get the rest of the can into the tractor.
I was cursing every environmentalist and every dimwit who believes them, and every congress critter who listens to them and makes laws based on their delusions, all of which led to me getting soaked in diesel fuel.
PLUS I guess it was part of the law that made the new gas cans have different threads so an "old style" (read, one that works) won't fit without leaking.
Unfortunately the democrats seem to have anticipated the huge on line sales this would have resulted in as the rest of the country ordered new gas cans from sources in Michigan. Hell, I'll be tempted to make the trek from Texas and fill up my truck bed - bootleg gas cans, anyone?
I totally agree with your sentiment. Most lawmakers wouldn’t know a lawnmower from an outhouse yet they feel expert enough to pass laws to force inconveniences onto us.
Have you watched the interview Stossel did with the lawyer that put a gas can company out of business? As if folks don’t like lawyers enough, the interview will make you furious.
I’m with you on this. Filling up my Kubota is a total PITA, especially with a full 6 gallon can. And don’t even get me started on low volume flush toilets.
