How will they record the mileage of every motor vehicle in the US? Who will do this, check it against every vehicle registration, and bill every owner? I see a massive increase in government, another massive increase in unlicensed, uninsured and untitled vehicles on the roads...

With what I’ve seen during the past few months, legalizing and taxing cannabis would quickly solve any tax problems. The public could use a little stress relief from this illegitimate administration.

This will be awful. People, like me, who drive long distances to visit family will be so screwed. So much for an inexpensive road trip.

Perhaps the flannel-clad, Subaru-driving Sisters of Sappho will have something to say about hat.

Walkers should be taxed, too. Those sidewalks aren’t free.

I am surprised that the Dems haven’t thought of taxing the charging station (i.e. so much in tax per kilowatt).

Remember this?

“No one making under $400K will pay a dime more in taxes under my plan”

Thanks for asking the question I do not get? Will we now go & have our mileage checked before tax time & have it recorded on a government card???????

Needed to rebuild the infrastructure that was built in the 30s-60s using no mileage tax and lower income tax rates. Maybe let’s just do that again instead.

It appears as though all the queers, unqualified and mentally lacking are fraudulently in charge.

Is there a qualified Military person that could take charge until we can get a duly elected President in place?

Asking for a friend...

That’s still a sales tax on things. This would be a tax solely on what you’re doing with a thing that they’ve already collected taxes on (the purchase of car, the fuel, maintenance and insurance are all already taxes, sometimes more than once).

This would be - uniquely, I believe - the first tax on behavior. I can’t think of anything analogous, at least not in the US.

“Gas is already taxed”

Like 80 cents where I live. And the number that Biden’s people are pushing is 25 cents, so it works out great for me!

Yes it is and the more you drive the more you pay in tax, so the present method is fair except for the electric car drivers.

So a special tax for them would be appropriate.

But the government actually gives them tax breaks.

The Democrats always deny they are the party of “Tax and Spend” and then they prove they are exactly that.

Roberts said it wasn’t a penalty, it was a tax. He said it’s good to go because congress has the power to tax.

I don’t know which truck drivers are “livid.” I just read a report last week that said since the COVID fiasco began, compensation for truck drivers rose more in 2020 than at any time since WW2.
