This is actually an impressive and interesting development.
Unless they do the engineering correctly, it's a non-starter. Structural members are supposed to last forever, while stuff that wears out hangs on to them where they can be accessed and replaced.
Batteries last how long? And now, that'll be the life of the device...

This is actually an impressive and interesting development. 24 Whr/kg for this battery as opposed to 10615 Whr/for gasoline. Y'all can be impressed for me. I'll save being impressed until the energy density gets to be a whole lot greater then 0.22% of fossil fuel
