This is actually an impressive and interesting development.

Unless they do the engineering correctly, it's a non-starter. Structural members are supposed to last forever, while stuff that wears out hangs on to them where they can be accessed and replaced.

Batteries last how long? And now, that'll be the life of the device...

No thanks. Not yet.

Are charge times expanded or reduced? Would the gel battery concept improve the milliamp hours? If used in a plane, would electric storms from weather threaten the functionality?

24 Whr/kg for this battery as opposed to 10615 Whr/for gasoline. Y'all can be impressed for me. I'll save being impressed until the energy density gets to be a whole lot greater then 0.22% of fossil fuel
