Jay North today looks quite a bit like Jeb!
I’m glad he has survived and found stability.
I used to hear a lot from Jay the adult, about the abuse he dealt with during his years playing Dennis.
I have heard nothing from him in years.
During the TV series, he was supervised on the set by an Aunt and Uncle. This began in the second year of the show.
According to Jay,
If he performed lower than her standards or required too many takes for a scene, she would slap him or threaten him behind the scenes.

‘Jay North, the actor who played Dennis is still alive...’
hope so; he’s younger than I am...

I’m kind of enjoying being Mr. Wilson to the 3 boys next door. Curmudgeon living is fun. Now get off my lawn.

Dennis the Menace (Jay North), married my cousin, and now lives in my parents old home in the small North Florida rural town of Lake Butler.I bet that he has a lot of nice memories to recall about how well he was treated on set.

Yes, with actually funny comic strips in the newspapers.
Today’s woke snowflakes would melt at real humor.

I know, but he was so stupid. I just couldn’t take it. Bad writing I guess. They could have mixed it up a bit. Beaver was interesting from time to time. But Dennis was way too formulaic. And the jokes weren’t funny.

Oh fiddle faddle! In all seriousness all it set out to do was be funny. Unlike "Beaver" it wasn't trying to teach life lessons. I thought it was pretty funny.
