“Vitamin C is water-soluble, so consuming more than the body needs will result in it being excreted in urine.”
Did you read the paper? It speaks for itself.

I read the paper and did the math. Taking 100 grams of Vitamin C is 100,000 milligram, which is 16,6666.6% of the daily rate. The central dogma of orthomolecular medicine seems to be that if some nutrient is good, megadoses of that nutrient are much better and can cure anything. Since Vitamin C is water-soluble, consuming more than the body needs will result in it being excreted in urine. That means it's not to stick around in the body to do much good, if it even does do good. That's going to make a lot of Vitamin C down the toilet.

Partner, there is so much Bravo Sierra in this supposedly medical paper.
This sounds like it would come out of sorry 81 year old Speaker Nancy Pelousy's mouth. 81 year old Pelousy has got to be the worst Speaker of the House ever!!! I ain't lying either.
BTW, I take 7000 mg of vitamin C and I have not had the Flu in about 12 years now.
I overheard a person say that he had been taking Vitamin about 12 yrs. ago and he had not had a flu or cold symptom for over 15 years.
I started taking 7000 mg of vit. C and 100 mg of Zinc and Vitamin D exactly as he mentioned.

Ahem! High dose vitamin C can result in kidney stones (contrary to the article). Also, the body makes oxalate stones from exposure to mold (from fruit and cantaloupe), lack of Vitamin B-6, lack of a calcium binder, and high dose Vitamin C. The oxalate stones can cause breast cancer, heart attacks from blocked arteries, arthritis, dementia and autism. If you are going to take high dose Vitamin C, only do so when under extreme stress from flu, etc., otherwise high dose Vitamin C can be debilitating and even lethal.
