Yep. Both individuals had a gun in hand, and the smaller appeared to be bringing it up when he was shot.

Unfortunately, a small but vocal group on the right, in particular the Libertarian right have a real issue with authority and hence an ingrained animus to police in general.
Not gonna lie. That video is shaky and not clear but the facts of him having a gun and him throwing it down. Hang on let me look again .Yeah I never saw him throw the gun but I am sure the cop saw the gun drawn. Dumb move by a young kid.
Wen it comes to self defense, i care not about age or gender of the threat.
The only rush to judgement comments I personally saw on a few threads were those who stated the suspect had a gun in his hand at the time he was shot, which was not the case.

Whether or not the PD concludes this was a “good shoot’, the officer did some good shooting.
Well, I know that Free Republic and Mr. Robinson are pro-men in blue - so I would love to petition them to purge our group of these undesirables. I would not want for an officer to come to read at our historically pro-authority site and go away with a tear in his eyes because he and his badge might appear to be unwelcome here. They have enough enemies without finding them here as well.
Free Republic is and always has been in my reading a friend to law enforcement.
Mistakes are going to happen as we saw with the taser v. weapon situation - and I’ve no doubt that the officer accused of manslaughter is beyond grief for what happened.
Our police leave their own families unprotected in order to protect us - and I laud them for their service.
